the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is back this weekend — the 62nd annual — and for fans, it must be a treat to welcome the perennials back after all the COVID-related shutdowns since March 2020.

A sense of normality, for example.

But it can be difficult to park or navigate traffic during the big event.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department issued a traffic alert for the event, which runs until 6 p.m. Sunday along 90 acres of waterfront and various properties.

Here’s what you need to know:

Show locations

Bahia Mar Nautical Center

Pier 66 Marina

Las Olas Marina

Super Yacht Village at Pier 66 South

Hall of Fame Marina

Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center.

What should drivers do

“Anticipate delays” if you commute across barrier island and along Las Olas Boulevard, according to police. “Plan accordingly.” Consider transportation options like Fort Lauderdale water taxi and shuttle bus system.

The water taxi connects the North, West and South car parks as well as connections to show venues and begins one hour before the show opens at 10 a.m. and ends one hour after the show closes at 7 p.m. and 6 p.m. daily and Sunday, respectively.

Pre-purchase is required and a day pass is $12. Boats arrive and depart every 15 minutes. The information is at https://www.flibs.com/en/attend/transportation/water-taxi.html.

Bus shuttle has two routes. The green bus line runs to and from Pier 66, Super Yacht Village, Bahia Mar. The blue bus line runs to and from the Broward County Convention Center. The shuttle service is free to and from the boat show.

The shuttle bus service runs from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
