Save the date: The 2022 Newport International Boat Show is set to return September 15-18

Save the date, the Newport International Boat Show returns to the Newport waterfront from Thursday, September 15 through Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Celebrating 50 years in 2021, the Newport International Boat Show is one of the largest boating events in the country and New England’s premier boat show. It encompasses over 14 acres of Newport’s famous waterfront and hosts hundreds of exhibitors from around the world with new motorboats and sailboats ranging from 15 to 90 feet, as well as a huge selection of marine equipment, services and accessories for boaters.

The 2022 Newport International Boat Show will take place at the Newport Yachting Center Marina from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. September 15-17 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. September 18.

According to NewportBoatShow.com, tickets for the event go on sale June 1.

Newport Exhibition Group, owners and producers of the Newport International Boat Show (NIBS), announced on January 5 that after running the show for more than two decades, show manager Nancy Piffard is retiring. Desiring continuity of leadership, Lisa Knowles, who served as the Salon’s senior sales manager, was promoted to replace Piffard. To ensure a smooth transition, Piffard will continue to play a consulting role until early spring.

During his tenure, Piffard received numerous accolades. Recently, she was recognized as a 2021 Women of Distinction winner by the Newport Chamber of Commerce and, in 2019, one of The nautical industry Women making waves. In 2017, Piffard and his team were awarded the Rhode Island Marine Trade Association (RIMTA) Anchor Award – as outstanding advocates for promoting Rhode Island’s marine industry. Piffard will leave behind a legacy in the form of establishing the Newport For New Products awards program over 15 years ago and was instrumental in bringing in-water training to the show.
