WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – Last year the Palm Beach International Boat Show had to hold a virtual event that cost the Florida economy millions of dollars.
One of the yacht organizers hoping to draw crowds is the Mansion Yacht.
“It’s a very big houseboat,” laughs Andrew Doole, president of the Palm Beach International Boat Show.
“We have over 9,000 square feet. We are five king cabins with five king baths,” said Bruno Edwards, president of Mansion Yachts.
This 85’x50 foot yacht costs $12 million.

“That was the goal, is that we wanted you to feel at home in your mansion, to have all the luxuries of home, and not to feel like you were missing anything. thing,” Edwards said.
It is the first of its kind made solely from 100% stainless steel.
“And it’s stainless steel, so it’s low maintenance,” Doole said.
Its most unique feature? “What you can do is pick it up at about 7 knots, push it up to a sandbar or an island, then pull it up 18 feet and get it out of the water,” Edwards said.
It has 72 solar panels, with a bank of 600,000 batteries. If you wanted to get off the grid, you could.
“You could walk away for a really long time,” Edwards said. “I think the batteries last 30 years.”
“You can be in any remote location and you’re self-sufficient and you’re right there with nature. Beautiful,” Doole said.
During hurricanes or calm periods, he can lay his pilings.
“No weirdness, no swaying, no seasickness, that sort of thing,” Edwards said.
He’s front and center at this year’s boat show in hopes of drawing crowds and helping make a huge impact on Florida’s economy.
“The Palm Beach International Boat Show has an economic impact of $600 million statewide and in the local economy it’s about $100 million,” Doole said.
Owners say Michael Jordan rented this mansion yacht for a Super Bowl party last year. Parties on this boat can range from $9,000 to $50,000 depending on size.”
