MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – An $ 8 ticket will not only provide access to a home, garden and boat lounge, but also a glimpse of the new downtown Muskegon convention center.
The Muskegon Lakeshore Home, Garden + Boat Show on April 16-17 will be the premier event at the VanDyk Mortgage Convention Center at 460 W. Western Ave.
Tickets are now on sale at muskegonhgs.org. They cost $ 8 now and $ 10 on show days. Children under 13 are free.
Construction on the $ 21 million convention center began in August 2019. It connects the Delta by Marriott hotel and the city’s Mercy Health Arena and faces Shoreline Drive and Western Avenue between Third and Fifth Streets.

The Home, Garden and Boat Show will feature 50 exhibitors and everything from boater safety training to cooking and flower arranging seminars. There will also be a full bar with beer and wine tasting.
Last year’s lakeside home and garden show came to an untimely end due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The mid-March event only lasted a day before a decree canceled it.
The city of Muskegon via Muskegon County has sold $ 20 million in bonds to pay for the construction of the convention center, which will be reimbursed to the county through a hotel room tax and another tax on the two downtown hotels – the Delta by Marriott and the Shoreline Inn – – owned by Jon Rooks of Parkland Properties.
Parkland Properties will manage the operations of the convention center, which has 33,000 square feet of convention space.
